Here is the story behind the cookie jar I made for the 8th Annual National Cookie Jar Show in Bellville, IL in 2001. I thought that a garden fairy would be neat since so many people are interested in this type of pottery. 

After I had my idea, I first did up a quick sketch, which is shown below.

After I had a working drawing, I was off to the races. I took the drawing and a huge lump of clay and began to mold my sculpture based on my drawing. After about 50 hours and many revisions I have my first draft of the jar done, which is shown below.

Next I had to cut the lid and get ready to ship of my sculpture to have a mold made. After I cut the lid, the jar looked like you see it below.

Finally, when I got the mold back I made my first jar and started to experiment with what colors I would use. What you see below is how they ended up looking.
